Adobe blocks (Rukarakara) — Specification
Abstract

1.1 This Rwanda Standard specifies requirements, sampling and test methods for adobe blocks, also known
as “Rukarakara” for interior and exterior use in masonry walling.
1.2 The use of adobe blocks specified in this Rwanda Standard applies to non-storeyed and basement free
buildings having total floor area not exceeding 200 m2 with the capability of accommodating not more than 15
people.
1.3 Construction with adobe blocks is regulated by the Rwanda Building Code and other related regulations.
